Like the discussion on why corporate Ghana, limits women who are interested in having babies.
I have observed that a number of women especially in corporate/public political spaces in Kenya and indeed many other African countries have had to make a choice..especially a few years ago..things are changing now albeit slowly.
Most of these spaces were designed for men so the thought of someone for instance in parliament with a baby or CEO of a corporate was un thinkable….hence the lack of creches in offices and public offices ..because they assume men occupy these offices and encourage only emasculated women- such as women in their 50s to join these space.
Very unfair..we need policies that encourage women to have that balance if they wish. The media should also step up their role in spreading images of women having that balance
My 2 cents worth from Nairobi
